Form
The more I paint, the more I want to go beyond the simple description and have something to say with my painting. In my What Plagues Us? Painting, for example, I looked a lot at how I could use pictures I had of a model with a doctor's mask from the time of the plague. As I tried different possibilities, the idea came to me that the way in which women and girls are treated in different parts of the world is akin to a modern form of "plague".
I am an observer by nature and I find myself attracted by the people in the street interacting in their everyday world. I can be initially attracted by a person's gesture, expression or feelings, but very often a story will emerge as I work on design and composition.
