The key element of a great painting lies in the emotion it transcribes. Even if the characters represented are not exactly similar to the models, an artist can nevertheless express his affection for them and his feelings.
A realistic and delicate approach is very important to me. It allowed me to report many tender moments. My mother died four years ago and I created a series of paintings to ease my pain. Loving Mother is one of these works. Looking at those faces rendered with care and realism, I could feel the love and devotion of my mother. The realistic watercolor allowed me to reach the deepest parts of my soul and memory and to express an abundance of emotions. It has naturally become my favorite form of expression.
