It's a mess!
Welcome to Casablanca's bazaar.
The process
Using vectorization
I started with a Wacom add, representing a jumble of characters drawn on tablet.
Gauthier was fond of the picture and undertook to copy it on a paperblock drawing with a felt pan.
I borrowed the idea by first crunching a cactus, then portraits of Moroccan children, then a warrior.
Simple shapes, which I then sent to Illustrator to widely zoom and work the curves.
Vectorizing makes it possible to change scale without losing quality. The lines are geometric curves, the colors of the gradients.
Reframing a single drawing creates a wide variety of subjects in the design style, which I then paint in watercolors.
