As a cook compiles his recipes, the watercolorist keeps track of his colors.

The Winsor & Newton range offers nearly a hundred colors, but it is necessary to restrict the palette to remain coherent.

On these watercolors, I played between permanent colors (pink) and very transparent (aureoline yellow).

The rose becomes omni-present, while the other pigments shade the hollows of the paper. I used cobalt green a lot.

Yellow and pink can give a vermilion red, or in a different proportion a very pale orange.

Black is obtained with ultramarine and Venetian red (very covering). Gray with permanent pink and cobalt green, which are almost complementary.

The family on an old moped is part of the Moroccan images for which I have both love and a little anxiety when the 2-wheel crosses the red crossroads with the assurance of the innocent.

My butterflies sparked family debates, but I kept them in the drawing because I am the painter .

In this drawing, it is a question of simplifying the features, keeping to the essential.

I chose the palm trees and the computer (an old model) to situate the drawing in its context. And a portion of self-portrait..

In the b&w drawing, there are several waves, but on this one, only one.

Same ads for the other drawings, I tried to simplify the lines and restore simple curves, to keep room for color and material.

The drawing came straight, I had to revise the surfboard, but this object hardly shows on the watercolour.

A boy and a girl.

There are many children in Casa, I see them from my bike when I go around the girl. Often, they wear white coats to go to school, group themselves along sidewalks.

The little girl looks sulky, almost sad. The boy is wearing a turban.

I played with my pigments, to texture the drawing, while looking for lines.

Here we are at the end of the project.

In fact, nothing is ever gained in watercolor until we have reached the end.

Although I had prepared the drawing from the very beginning, I still had to paint 12 animals, 13 characters, 2 palm trees, 8 amphoras, 2 cactuses, a carpet, a tajine, 2 flowers and 47 leaves.

It did not go well because the first test went to the trash. But the 2nd was the good one.

The clutter is composed of 3 planes delimited by the black and pink backgrounds, and the rows of foliage.

During the project, the idea came to hire Olivier as a composer of music. Great, because the music is designed to match each board.

Making a mosaic of colors and musical themes in a short time like a video was a stimulating constraint, such as varying atmospheres while keeping the thread, then intermingling them at the end.

The graphic project was playful, playing on the profusion and assembly of genres; it was an encouragement to do the same in music, and to dare winks or quotes as varied as Prokofiev, Angelo Branduardi or Bob Marley.

Skype and compressed files facilitate remote collaboration; the shared pleasure does the rest, like integrating Benoît's guitar parts, with superb sounds.
